Things I am loving right now...

*Jeans and sweaters (I know I'll regret saying this in a couple of months)
*Saturday morning soccer practice with a hot chocolate in hand
*Hugs from Annalise especially when she rubs my back while I am rubbing hers
*Chloe's proud face as she gets off the school bus
*Apple pie baking parties
*Family dinners since they are so rare these days
*Mums
*Watching HGTV (or similar) in bed while the four of us snuggle on a weekend morning
*Sunday morning brunch at the local diner
*Hearing "I love you so much, mommy" as I am passing by
*Giggles from the bathtub (not fighting!)
*pigtails
*butternut squash soup and apple crisp

And so it begins...

My little Chloebird is officially a Kindergartner.

There may have been some tears last night and this morning (from her mama) and some feelings of excitement and anxiety (from both of us), but it really was a great day.

Our little family of four waited at the bus stop to send her off.

Little sis was a kind of sad that she was not going to be able to ride the bus with her big sister ("but mom, I'm a big goil too"), but promises of scooby snacks and chocolate milk and a hug from her sister quickly turned that frown upside down.

Once the bus took off, Annalise and I quickly got in the car and drove to the school to see our big girl officially enter the next stage of her life.  SIGH...where did the time go?

The official report is in:  She had fun.  She learned "lots of stuff".  Her favorite part of the day was recess.  Her second favorite part of the day was snack time. (hmmm)  School "is a lot of hours".   End of report.  Maybe we'll get a longer one tomorrow...

"They aren't marky."

Chloe:  "Mom you really should buy some pajama jeans.  They are soft and cuddly inside."

Me:  "Ummm, no thanks."

Chloe:  "They aren't marky."

Me:  "What does that mean?"

Chloe:  "They won't mark up your legs because they are soft and cuddly."

Hmmm, didn't know that was a problem.  Yeah, still not buying them.  She also wants me to buy the alumawallet because "no truck is a match for the alumawallet."  I think we need an informercial intervention.

Right now...

-I wish I could breathe through my nose and also quit sneezing.  That would be nice.  a-a -A- CHOO!
-I wish Norton would QUIT BARKING ALREADY.
-I wish my kids would give me the night off from my least favorite job - "referee".  Seriously, quit fighting!
-I also think today feels like Thursday rather than Tuesday.  Bummer.

That's all.  I will be back soon with a post that's not so crabby...after I get some sleep.

Busy Spring!

My sweet little Chloebird graduated from farm school a few weeks ago.  She's all ready for the big world of Kindergarten (sniffle, sniffle).  We enjoyed a fun lunch on the farm with all of the grandparents.  I think I was more upset about leaving than Chloe was...she is SOOOOO excited about her next step in life that nothing is holding her back.  I may or may not have shed a tear when she made her rounds giving the animals one last hug goodbye...

We have also been busy with Saturday morning soccer practice...

And a trip to the cabin where Grandpa Teddy popped us some special popcorn...

And then we celebrated Grandma Patti's 29th birthday....

And then we celebrated all of the wonderful dads in our life on Father's day, including our own special "daddy Keith" whom we love so much...

Add a little bit of goofing off (and lots of work, of course) and that just about sums up the last month!
